Volunteer Opportunities
Our Savior Lutheran Church would not be able to do all the wonderful things we do for our members, our neighbors and our community if it weren't for the dedication of our volunteers. These people offer their time and talents to benefit the community and this congregation in His name.
Volunteer opportunities are available for special events, on a weekly basis or just whenever you think you have time to spare. Please call your lay minister or the church office if you are interested in volunteering. The phone numbers can be found inside the front cover of the weekly bullitens.
We Need You
Our Savior is a busy place! It provides us all an opportunity to benefit from a variety of programs and services including spiritual development, personal growth, and community involvement.
We need YOU to give us a helping hand to make this happen!
YOU can make a difference.
Thank you.
Current Our Savior Volunteer Opportunities
Youth Group: We are looking for people to help with the Youth Group Meetings, Junior Youth Group Meetings, and Sunday School Kids extra events. If anyone is interested in helping in any of these areas, call Angel Roberts at (810) 720-1502.
Property Board: We are looking for people to help around the church on Tuesdays starting at 9:00 a.m. During the summer we need help with cutting grass and other grounds work. All-year-round, we need help with cleaning and light maintenance. If you want to help keep our church beautifull, come out any Tuesday morning and we will put you to work.
The Alter Guild: We are looking for volunteers to learn what we do and help out. Anyone who is interested in learning how to become an Alter Guild please contact Bert Roof or call the church office.
Hurley Medical Center - Courtsey Coach
Hurley Medical Center is looking for qualified people who can make a difference in our Courtsey Coach, Surgical Lounge and Greeter Program.
As a volunteer you will provide valuable services for patients, visitors, and staff --services which might not otherwise be available (ie. greet and guide visitors, keep families informed, raise monies for hospital endeavors, listen and provide comfort, provide a warm hug...)
For more information on this opportunity, please call Hurley Medical Center, Lisa Hasselbach, Volunteer Director at (810) 257-9152 or via email at lhassell@hurleymc.com
Habitat for Humanity
Genesee County Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry, affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International, but controlled locally. It is made up of people who volunteer their time and work to provide decent, affordable homes for persons who could not otherwise afford to buy a home. Habitat is financed through donations of money and materials. Houses are sold at no profit, and no interest, typically over a 20 year period.
Contact Wayne Bailey or the church office for more information on how members and friends or Our Savior Lutheran Church can help with a Habitat for Humanity project.
