OUR SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH
A caring Christian community where you can become
all that God has created and redeemed you to be

Volunteer

Quote of the Month
"If everyone volunteered for more, they would be asked for less."
- Grandma Peggy

Volunteer Opportunities
Our Savior Lutheran Church would not be able to do all the wonderful things we do for our members, our neighbors and our community if it weren't for the dedication of our volunteers. These people offer their time and talents to benefit the community and this congregation in His name.

Volunteer opportunities are available for special events, on a weekly basis or just whenever you think you have time to spare. Please call your lay minister or the church office if you are interested in volunteering. The phone numbers can be found inside the front cover of the weekly bulletins.

We Need You
Our Savior is a busy place! It provides us all an opportunity to benefit from a variety of programs and services including spiritual development, personal growth, and community involvement.

We need YOU to give us a helping hand to make this happen!

YOU can make a difference.

Thank you.

A Message of Thanks from Someone "YOU" Helped

The Roberts Family would like to thank everyone who helped them after their house fire. "Thank you to everyone who came over to help with clean up and re-building. Thank you to everyone who donated clothing, bedding, toiletries, food and other items. Thank you to everyone who gave monetary gifts and gift card donations to help offset the cost of building materials and household furnishing that were lost. Thank you, especially, to Janice and Tom Roberts for organizing the Spaghetti Dinner (and to everyone who helped with and at the event) to raise money for us. Also, special thanks to Thrivent Financial for matching a portion of the money that was raised at the dinner. Finally, we want to extend a huge THANK YOU to the entire Our Savior family for keeping the Roberts family in your prayers through this difficult time. We really appreciate all the outpouring of love and support everyone has shown us."

* If you would like to say thank you to someone from Our Savior for helping you, please leave a note at the church office or send an email to us at oslflint@oslflint.org.

Habitat for Humanity
Genesee County Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry, affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International, but controlled locally. It is made up of people who volunteer their time and work to provide decent, affordable homes for persons who could not otherwise afford to buy a home. Habitat is financed through donations of money and materials. Houses are sold at no profit, and no interest, typically over a 20 year period.

Contact Wayne Bailey or the church office for more information on how members and friends or Our Savior Lutheran Church can help with a Habitat for Humanity project.

YOU CAN HELP

Perscripiton Help for the Uninsured
Local Grocery Store to Help Uninsured Cover the Cost of Prescriptions

Health Access is collecting receipts from VG's to help low-income, uninsured individuals access prescriptions. VG's will donate a percentage of the total of all receipts that we submit to Heath Access, and we will utilize it to help with the purchase of prescription medications for those who are unable to pay for the prescriptions.

If you shop at VG's, or you know someone who does, please save your receipts to help us to help the community.

The receipts may be mailed to:

RxHealth Access
1428 W Court St
Flint, MI 48503

This is an on-going project - there is no deadline to submit receipts. The more receipts collected, the more people who will be helped --no receipt is too small! If you have any questions, please feel free to call Marcy Buren, Director of Health Access, at 232-4200.
