Winter Services and Events

Come and listen to inspiring messages each Sunday and join us for the other fun and meaningful activities all throughout the year. Come "where each person is loved as a Precious Gift from God."

Advent Worship Services

Starting on Wednesday, November 30th, throughout the end of the year, at 7:00 p.m. we will have weekly Advent services. Everyone is encouraged to attend and bring friends, family, and/or anyone else you feel a calling to bring. Hope to see you all there.

The theme for the mid-week worship services come from "Songs for Our Coming Savior". These songs from Isaiah 40:1-11 have, for centuries, been preparing God's people for the coming of Christ.

The titles of these services are listed below:
  • November 30 - "Comfort, Comfort These My People" (Isaiah 40:12)
  • December 7 - "Prepare the Royal Highway" (Isaiah 40:3-5)
  • December 14 - "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" (Isaiah 40:6-8)
  • December 21 - "Lift Up Your Heads, You Mighty Gates" (Isaiah 40:9)

  • The special Holiday Services are listed below:

A Nutrition Class is being offered on Tuesdays from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior. It is a program that works with the State of Michigan to give training for good food habits for healthier living.

Those who attend will receive a voucher for Michigan grown foods at the Flint Farmer's Market. Those with bridge cards can benefit with a double bucks incentive.

Attend the program if you would like more information or call Sadonna Myers at (810) 744-4348 or Helen Thorn at (810) 785-4324.

    Praise and Worship
Despite technical difficulties, our "Praise and Worship Pre-service Music" events have went pretty well. We have gotten a pretty good turn out each time and a lot of positive feedback. If anyone would like to lend a hand in putting together the next event, please see Debra or Pastor. Thanks for your support.

    IMPORTANT NOTES

    Order Your Poinsettias
Poinsettias to beautify our chancel for Christmas have been ordered. If you would like to buy one or more of the Poinsettias, just fill out the small green form found in the Sunday bulletin and give it to Bert Roof or turn it into the office, along with your payment before December 18, 2011. Poinsettias are $15 each. You may place your Poinsettias in memory of someone or to commemorate something. You may take your Poinsettias home after the worship service on Christmas Day.

    The Children's Message
There will be a special service to proclaim the "Christmas Story" on the morning of Sunday, December 11, 2011. This year, as in years past, the production 'The Unexpected Guest' will involve children of all ages and will be directed by our teens. Don't miss it! Hope to see you all there.

    LWML Cookie Walk
Immediately following the service on Sunday, December 11th, you will have the opportunity to buy a selection of cookies for the season. Since this is the only fund-raiser the ladies will do to raise funds to send a delegate to the LWML Convention in 2012, they will need your help in providing cookies to sell, as well as your support to purchase cookies. Thank you.

    Blind Ministry Meeting
Blind Ministry is an outreach to the blind and visually impaired. The next monthly meeting, which includes a meal, fellowship, bible study and singing is scheduled for Saturday, December 17th, at 1:00 p.m.

Please contact Jan Roberts for more information.

    Caroling to our Shut-ins
You are invited to join us when we go caroling to our shut-ins on Saturday, December 17th. The time has been set for 3:00 p.m. We will need the early start time to set to all the shut-ins before it gets too late for them. If you are interested in singing with us, please sign up on the bulletin board in the main hallway.
