What's Going On at OSL?

Check the back of the Sunday bulletin for the up-coming events.

More Fun Events are on the horizon at OSL!

As you settle back into the school-time routine, we want to remind you that school is not the only place to go when you want to learn new things. When you go and get involved in church activities, you not only open yourself up to opportunities for personal rebirth, renewal and regrowth, but you also create lasting memories with family and friends, help people in the surrounding neighborhood, and make a difference in the community.

We have lots of things going on this Fall (like a Trip to Cedar Point, Community Health Fair, Fit for Life in Christ classes and Much MORE!) that will be fun for you and for your family!

Our Pastor, Executive Director and Board Members will be happy to tell you all about our on-going activities and our up-coming events and projects, as well as our plans for future programs.

Come to Our Savior Lutheran where each person is
LOVED as a Precious Gift from God.

Quick Tidbits
Thank You to all who helped with VBS. Again, this year’s staff made for a very successful program. I wish to also thank the children for coming. Without you we would not have had a need of the adult staff. Thank you! -Jean Shipley

Here at Our Savior, a Youth Confirmand Orientation for students and their parents is scheduled for September 7th at ll:45 am. Class scheduling is to be decided during this meeting.

A Fit for Life in Christ Class for teens and adults interested in becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ or reviewing His teaching will meet on Sundays at 12:30 p.m. beginning September 21st. If you would be interested in the class please talk to Pastor Schultz.

Coming Up and Continuing On!
There will be a Special Voters Meeting following the worship service on September 14, 2014. This meeting will be for the purpose of voting on a motion to be presented by the property Board for razing of our rental property at 621 E. York. This follows the discussion & concerns during our voters meeting of August 24th regarding the recent fire at that residence. This is a most urgent matter. Your consideration and participation is encouraged. A delegate to the Michigan District Convention also needs to be appointed.

Midweek Word & Prayer...We meet Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the church basement. In this informal setting we study God’s Word, pray, sing, and snack. Currently we are studying 1st Peter – 10 crucial insights for Christian Living in a Non-Christian Culture. We invite you to join us and bring friends.

Would You be Interested in being on the Prayer Chain? There are some ladies who would like to re-activate the Prayer Chain (a call is made to a person requesting prayer... the call is placed to the next person, and so on). Some people have signed up, but more are needed. Please call Denise Willis (813-2926 if you would like to participate on the Prayer Chain. Thank you.

Fit For Life In Christ Course

"If we all use the same Bible, why are there so many different denominations? What makes the Lutheran Church different than my other Church? What about evolution? Isn't it a proven scientific fact? What can we know about the end of time? What about life issues: Infant Baptism, Divorce, Homosexuality, Abortion? Does God still speak to us today? Is His Word reliable? Is it relevant for the 21st century?"

If these are questions that you have asked, then mark your calendar for our next Fit For Life in Christ session.

Next class Start Date:

September 21, 2014
12:30 p.m.

Fit For Life in Christ is a 10 to 12 week course that presents the Word of God in exciting and meaningful ways. It is a course for those who are interested in membership in our church, or for anyone who wants to know what it really means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

You owe it to yourself and your life with God to register and bring a friend to this enlightening, faith-building opportunity!

Call the church office to register or for more information.
